Saturday, May 20, 2006Binghamton, NY -- Quick QuestionWhy is it ok for Bush to force NM and CA to defend their borders with the National Guard when the states are against it when it was not ok for Bush to send in the National Guard for Katrina relief because the governor hadn't requested it yet?Thursday, May 18, 2006Albany, NY -- They Call Me Hot-Stepper...No, no, they certainly do not. Got dragged out by a new friend in Albany tonight to a weekly swing dancing lesson... I really couldn't be a worse dancer....but I might keep trying... Tuesday, May 16, 2006Albany, NY -- Neat New BlogHere's a rather attractive new blog called Content Revolution. It's put together by a cameraman named Jim Long, who's taking his first steps into visual internet content. Interesting stuff.Only problem is, you can't quote it, because all of his posts are images... Monday, May 15, 2006Binghamton, NY -- Bush's Immigration SpeechDoes he realize how big the border is down there? Or how small the active National Guard is getting due to overuse in Iraq? This isn't helping Mr. 29 any.Sunday, May 14, 2006Albany, NY -- The "Wing" Has Wung for the Last TimeExcellent last episode of the West Wing... the final scene with the napkin was so touching, a nice tribute to Leo. It's a total shame that we won't get to see the Santos administration; I'd like to see Josh in action as Chief of Staff.Albany, NY -- Malcolm for PresidentHA! The final episode of Malcolm in the Middle really did the series justice... Lois and Hal's lifelong plan for Malcolm to become President was revealed:"Now you are going to be President, Mister, and that's the end of it!" It was also great that they ended the series with this same song that they used to begin it: Citizen King's "Better Days". The last West Wing is next... I'll probably cry! Albany, NY -- The Internet Just Got a Little More Democratic (Small/Big "D?")People For the American Way (PFAW), has started WikithePresidency.org, which is a user-edited encyclopedia seeking to be a single place for the public to both acquire and share information about Executive Branch wrongdoings and rightdoings (it originally just said "wrongdoings").Not surprisingly, given the group that created it, WikithePresidency contains very little about Bush's "rightdoings," though in fairness, I can't really think of too many. Of course, there are some very questionable oddities -- check out this article about Neil Bush's ties to the family of John Hinckley (who shot President Reagan in the early 80s). Speaking of Wikis, earlier in the year I registered jewikipedia.com, .org, and .net. Does anyone think there's an actual demand for a comprehensive Jewish wiki site? |
