Binghamton, NY -- Stephen Colbert, the bullwark of conservatism?

Apparently that's what Tom Delay believes. Colbert "blasted" a critic of the Delay-led Congress on his show in his usual satirical manner. Of course Tom Delay, proving yet again that you need a conscience to have a sense of humor, didn't get it. So now the Republicans are propping up Stephen Colbert yet a second time (the first being his White House Correspondents dinner speech). I know a few conservatives that believe Colbert speaks for them in contrast to Jon Stewart for liberal America. It's sad really...

What happened to our sense of humor? I blame David Spade. He single-handedly killed satirical comedy.

Albany, NY -- The Circle's Been Squared...

... ring in the '80s! I just watched the series finale of That '70s Show. Really excellent, after a subpar second half to its eighth season. I didn't expect Eric to come back, given what I'd seen in the preview, so it was a pleasantly surprising moment to see him return. I even teared up at two points: when they did the flashback montage of Eric and Donna over Big Star’s “Thirteen” (beautiful song), and during the credits, when they reran the original end-credit scene from the pilot – the kids (and they were in fact kids back then), on their way home from a Todd Rundgren concert, singing along with “Hello It’s Me,” one of my favorite sentimental songs. I still remember watching that series premiere when it first aired!

The recap from Wikipedia (Wikipedia has everything!):

That '70s Show - That '70s Finale - The episode takes place on December 31, 1979. After her father announces that he is moving to Florida, Donna Pinciotti decides she needs to make a life for herself so she decides to start college in January. Fez and Jackie Burkhart decided in the previous episode to be girlfriend and boyfriend and in this episode, attempt to kiss for the first time. However, they are unable to kiss because the circumstances do not seem right. Eventually, they kiss on the watertower. Michael Kelso returns to Point Place, Wisconsin for New Years Eve. He finds Fez and Steven Hyde on the watertower. They all decide to jump of the watertower for one last time during the 1970s but only Kelso jumps. Kitty Forman and Red Forman had been planning to move to Florida just like Bob Pinciotti is going to but Kitty did not want to leave her home so Red and Kitty decided to stay in Wisconsin. Eric Forman, who had been in Africa during the show's final season, returned to Point Place for a visit. He showed up sometime after 11:22pm but before midnight. He found Donna sitting on the car and both talked about how sad they were that their relationship did not work out. The episode ended with a countdown to midnight. The license plate displayed at the end of the episode which reveals the year the episode takes place showed the date to be 1980.

Awesome.
