Convention Center Done?
We may have dodged a bullet... Jerry Jennings may be giving up on the terribly-conceived convention center project:With state support for the project set at $205 million, the project would require an additional $192 million in funding.
"In light of the challenges we're facing, I think it's only right we take a step back and look at this very, very closely," the mayor said. "There are other priorities in the city."
Jennings said he is asking the state for money to help balance the city's budget and cope with an excess of rundown vacant buildings.
It was a horrible idea from the beginning. I'd say more, but I couldn't say anything that Democracy in Albany hasn't already.
